Alo and Aster

Description

I feel like these guys should've been made a long, long time ago… Instead, I focused a little much on Jace's history and ancestors (though his requires a lot of attention because so much happened for his family. Enough that I could probably write a story for!).

No, let's focus on the unseen. Those who were missing from story 1, nor mentioned in series ever. Not even hinted at. But still, two of the most important characters. Alo and Aster are Iris' mother and father.
I feel like the whole "I'm an orphan, my parents died tragically" thing is incredibly overused in characters (and is probably cause from usually being too lazy to design the parents. I'm very guilty of this, as almost all my characters are, indeed, orphans. Partially for plot, partially because I had no ideas for the parents). So Alo and Aster ARE still alive, they never died. It was implied that they did, but they just escaped Hyrule and now live in some other place. Hence why Iris never met them. Iris- as a bud, was detached from Alo when they were running from monsters one night, and had no choice but to keep running. So they were very much unaware that Iris was in fact able to be born and live (thanks to the Great Deku Tree). If a mother expecting loses her bud, the bud wont live long after, so it was less likely that Iris should have even lived.

In the reference drawing of Alo, she's not half blind. But the night she lost Iris, she was attacked on the left eye, rendering it blank.

Alo was a lone forest scrub, the typical "Tarzan"chick. She usually spied on humans when they came near the woods, and usually tried keeping them out if she could. She roamed the forests though, and stayed where she wanted. And she enjoyed that life, and preferred it. She is a strange type of deku that can spit acid bubbles (some may remember Danda-Lyn. Lyn is the same kind of deku). Other scrubs often dubbed her a mad scrub for her aggression and ferocity. There weren't many beasts she wouldn't stand up to, and would defend a territory with her life. Like most Lost Woods scrubs, she is not fond of humans.
She met Aster when he came to the woods one day. He was a strange deku, and caught her interest. He smelled of humans and the outside world, which seemed REALLY weird… Meanwhile, Aster was feeling weird about being sniffed at by another deku…

Aster grew up in the outside world much like Jace had in Termina- but the country of Hyrule is a little rougher. His whole family was driven to make peace with humans and to teach that deku were able to find peace with them. Aster pushed this goal by becoming a merchant, so he could reach out to the people and communicate. However, being a business scrub is tough. Most are either found in odd places, or sell their wares for ungodly prices! It was only natural for people to assume Aster was a scam-artist looking for easy money. Though, he has a gentle heart and personality to go with it, and sold his wares for fair prices (and people who already knew this, still didn't buy from him. He usually had what most town shops already carried…). He would hardly ever mean harm to anyone, and just wants peace. If anything, he's sort of a coward, and does not handle well to dangerous encounters unless cornered. If cornered, he DOES have a good spit-force with deku nuts. He's had to be good with that, due to past run-ins with bandits…
He soon realized he was making no money at all. The people of towns were ignoring him, gorons never needed the simple things he carried, zora were hard to even FIND and you couldn't get into their domain, and the Gerudo were scary and mean. He decided to go to the woods, and aim his business more toward his own kind. Here, it was hardly beneficial… The woods had a lot of the things he sold just laying around! Here, he really WAS a scam artist if he expected his stuff to be sold… But when he was approached by a very strange female deku, he was a little startled… She came up to him, sniffing him and giving him the stink eye. She seemed interested in how he came from the outside world though.

They became friends over time. She often showed him where to find rare things in the woods, which helped him in his business. She thought his reasons for being a merchant were stupid, but never stopped him. Truth be told, Aster kept returning for Alo, rather than business. An attraction was there, and Alo eventually fell victim to this as well. The two loved each other, and balanced each other out.

They are a work in progress, so I'm still trying to come up with a story for them.
