Description

The night fell coldly upon the dark Lost Woods. Far into the woods, a little Deku girl carrying rupees was running, her face streaked with tears. She looked back, seeing the many burning torches from the angry people she'd stolen from. One shot an arrow, only grazing the girls arm, but it was still too much to take, as she fell, dropping everything. She soon looked up, when a crowd of shadows fell over her...
"Filthy creature... Don't be tricked by it's looks, if we don't do something, it'll only come back and continue this thieving..." The man holding the bow growled, only showing hatred when looking at the outcasted child. She stared, too terrified to speak, as she held her arm, her flaming spirit-filled eye's eyeing the fire of the torches.

It was nighttime, the sky was clear as the moon's light fell brightly on the little Deku boy crossing the field, holding a bag with some recently bought groceries from ClockTown. He soon looked back, when a few traveling hunters on horseback came his way from town. He glanced at the swords in their hands as they came toward him.
The lead hunter stopped, and looked down on the little blond leaved boy kindly "You're a little young to be out on your own at this hour, aren't you?" The man asked.
Confidently, the boy shook his head, and unsheathed his sword with his left hand "Well, I guess, but I can fend for myself sir. My Pa sent me to get some things from ClockTown."
The man seemed a little surprised to see this tiny Deku child unsheathe a sword, and handle it so carefully. The man smiled "Alright. Just be careful on your way home, boy."
The child nodded.

The little girl soon took a breath, and shot a Deku Nut directly at the mans face. When a loud pop and flash occurred from the exploding nut, she ran further into the forest, to the far forbidden areas. She soon grew weary, and tripped. She only sat up, before sitting on her hands and knees crying. She was confused, and had no idea that what she'd done was wrong, but she couldn't apologize even if she knew, because those men only saw her as a forest monster. She soon looked up and found a hole in a tree, and hid under it. She curled up in the corner and sobbed as she held her arm, trying to stop the bleeding.

The boy walked through the deep forest-swamp. A slight movement caused him to look elsewhere, but upon not watching his step, he tripped, dropping the bag. The sword's sheathe fell off as he rolled down hill. "Ahh!!" downhill, he rolled until stopping at the base of a tree... He sat up, looking up hill. "... Dang it... Dad's gonna kill me if I'm not home soon..." He reached for his sword, but it was gone ... "It fell off!?" He attempted to climb the hill, but it was too steep... He seemed a little scared, not knowing how he'd defend himself if something attacked. But, he looked back, and saw a gorgeous sight. Straight out, was a vast clearing, and practically framed the moon high up in the sky. He wowed.

A small glow made the girl shake, hoping it wasn't the men's flaming torches... But as it grew closer, she saw large wings fluttering behind it. It was a bright-glowing, almost heavenly-looking fairy with a pinkish-red glow. She didn't speak, even when it entered the tree with her. But, as it fluttered around her, she eventually stood, and with fear, she held her hands out to let the fairy land in her cupped hands.
"Don't be afraid child." It spoke with an angelic voice. "Those scary men are gone... Why'd you steal their money, though?"
"I-I needed the money." She sobbed.
"... Y'know? I've been watching out for you little one..."
"If so, then why wont you use your magic to protect me!?"
"Well, there's not much I can do for you, except this-" The fairy flew up, and touched Iris' arm, healing the cut "I am but a messenger... You're special, Iris. You have a heck of a life ahead of you. I want you to hold on for a little longer, and sooner than you think, you'll find thing's will work out in the end, and there's someone waiting for you. The fate of people's lives will one day depend on you."
"... I'm not important to anyone, and never will be..." Iris had no belief if what the fairy told her. "Everyone hates me here."
"I never said anything about here, child. You'll understand one day, but please, never give up. And when the time comes, be strong, you're not alone, and never will be." the fairy disappeared, and left Iris wondering what she was talking about... She sat down, and rubbed her now healed arm.

The boy sat down, trying to think of a way to get up the hill.
"A little lost?"
He jumped, and looked back, seeing a beautiful glowing fairy "Uh, no... Just tripped..."
"Ah, okay. You're name is Jace, right?"
"How'd you know?" Jace twitched a leaf.
The chuckled "A good friend sent me, she wanted me to give you a message... I have to make this quick, because I'm on borrowed time. Soon, Jace, you're life is going to change."
"... Change?"
"I can't explain much, but... You're destined for something big, child. Though, your curse will be a mighty big problem to handle..."
Jace lowered his leaves, and looked away "You... Know about my curse?" He held his head.
"Not many do, do they? Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. I know of the story, where the males in your bloodline have to live their lives searching for the cure, and when the time of the curses choosing comes, you'll-"
"Die. I know. Why bring that up?" The little boy had a serious sound in his voice, one you wouldn't usually hear from a child.
"Don't let that curse stop you from searching, let it make you stronger, you'll need all your wisdom and strength for the future, and as well as for someone else. There is someone who needs you, Jace, so be brave, and don't ever lose sight of what's right. You've got a great heart."
"Last time I checked, no one in Termina needed me..."
"I never said in Termina, little one... Anyway, it's my time to go... If you want to make it home, walk to that split tree over there, and there should be a less-steep hill."
Jace turned, and spotted the tree. "Oh, uh, okay, thank-..." The fairy was gone now without a trace... "You..." He looked up, before walking toward the tree with full thought.

"Someone needs me...?" Iris and Jace both thought....
----
Do know that these two different scenes were happening at the exact same time.
For those unaware, this is a long time ago, and Iris is in Hyrule, and Jace is in the parallel world, Termina. If ya' read Lost in Termina, this story'll make a little more sense. ;p

The sketch was originally thought up with this mini story in mind. As children, either Nayru, Din or Farore (Or the Great Fairies, you can use your imagination lol) sent a fairy messenger to warn them of their future, not truly telling them what it is, but at least letting them be aware of there being something and someone important involved in their future.

D'aww, Jace is too small for his dad's vest <3

I love the story! It has such heart within it!
As for the image, they are so cute and adorable at how innocently they look at the fairies
