It was around early midnight, as she walked through the dark tunnel way looking tired and a little distressed... She soon reached a door and stopped to look at it, before knocking a few times... No answer came. She sighed irritably and knocked again, this time harder and louder. On the other side, quite far away, she heard a faint and tired voice call "Uh- H-Hold on, I'm up, I'm up, I'm coming..."
After hearing what sounded like steps, she heard a light thud and an accompanied "Ow!" that came after. It was moments after this that the door opened to show a tired Deku Scrub rubbing the side of his head tiredly with slight pain... He looked at his hand as if checking for anything in particular, before looking ahead of himself, trying to wake his sight. He tiredly brushed his somewhat messy bright yellow blond leaves out of his face to see the girl who knocked on the door. She had autumn leaves tipped with blond on each leaf that looked surprisingly neat as if she'd maybe gotten home from somewhere special, despite her tired and sleepy look. She was wearing a long night gown whose colors couldn't be made out in the dim energy-mushroom-lights of the room. Really, the only bright light that could be seen were the two character's spirit-lit eyes gazing at each other. He began "Sorry... I had a run in with the wall... I guess I really need to watch where I'm going..." He laughed lightly, but he noticed the girl didn't seem to find it funny, but she only looked down and rubbed her eyes tiredly. He suddenly had a look of concern on his face and asked "Iris...?"
"Jace. Uh, this is sudden, but can I stay with you tonight?"
"I... I guess... You didn't have to ask, come over when ever you want. Did something happen? Bad dream?"
Iris shook her head no "No... You might need to come take a look at something..."
"Uh, okay... Lead the way."
Iris nodded, and turned to walk back through the tunnel way with Jace following her.

They were silent the whole way, when Jace came to a stop with shock all over his face at what he saw. Another door, where Iris had been staying, was ripped down and there was no room inside, just a pile of wood and torn down earth and rubble. The insides that caved in had rushed out into the hall of the tunnel slightly and met at where Iris had stopped. She looked up at Jace sadly "Don't ask me what happened, because I dunno... I came home from helping Aritha clean the Gardens, and I wasn't even home for twenty minutes, and my entire home caved in... I got out before it was able to collapse."
"Mother of Odolwa..." Jace muttered. He kicked a little ball of red dirt clod lightly, before looking back at Iris. "I tried to make this little home the best I could... I guess I just didn't do as good of a job as I thought... I'm real sorry. I'm just thankful you hadn't gotten caught in that!" He paused "I guess a make-shift cavern home isn't always the best... It's walls weren't held with stone, and now that I look at it, this is some really fine earth. I shouldn't have ever dug into it. I just made it worse."
"Oh don't keep going on, it's fine..." She muttered. "You didn't know this would happen." She patted him on the back.
Jace sighed "Well... C'mon." He looked irritated with his failed work. Iris followed him back to his home.
"I had that built so you could have a quick way between here and the village. It was the perfect location, too." He walked to another room once they got to his place. He soon walked back into the main room with Iris and sat at the edge of his bed. Iris stood and wiped her nightgown of dirt and remaining rubble... She closed the door behind her. She turned to Jace intently "Aw, c'mon babe, It's okay, really... And at least all my things hadn't been moved in there yet, it was all safe here at your place."
"I guess you're right, but still... You could've been hurt." Jace moped.
"Yeah, but I'm not hurt." She smiled, trying to cheer him up "And what about you? That little bump on the noggin earlier looks like it might've bruised... You feel alright?"
Jace smiled and chuckled "Oh, no, I'm fine..."
She leaned on the wall "... Cheer up, we can start on a new place tomorrow."
"..." Jace looked down for a moment, before he looked back up at her "Why don't you just live here with me?"
"Well, I dunno..."
Jace leaned his head on one of his hands, as his elbow sat on his knees. "Just stay with me, it's no trouble. It's not like I'm crazy about my privacy here. And there's plenty of space."
"If you say so... I feel like I'm barging in and invading your personal space."
Jace laughed "Personal space? Like I care about personal space! We've known each other for three years, and dated for just as long, and not once have I complained about personal space. If there's anything I'd love, it'd be to be close to you." He smiled "It gets lonely around here anyway, I would love to wake up to your beautiful face every morning."

She blushed, which was hidden in the light of her eyes. "Well, it'd be nice to be closer."
"Then it's decided...?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'd love to stay here." She chuckled "It gets a little lonely on my own, also."
Jace had the urge to jump up and down with excitement, but calmly stood and smiled at her "Awesome!"
Iris giggled, but suddenly yawned. "..."
"..." Jace sighed "Well, It's pretty late, and you've had a stressful long night I assume, with that part time job and your home collapsing and all... I think it's time to hit the hay, because even I'm about to pass out..." He scratched his head.
She nodded "I'm sure tomorrow will be better."
Jace fell back on the bed "Oh, don't you worry... It'll be a new day~..." He said in a tired glad tone.
Iris smiled at his reaction, and laid down on the bed. Jace had already closed his eyes with his hands behind his head. Iris pulled the covers up over her and yawned again. She got as comfortable as she could, and closed her eyes. Some shifting on the bed caused the animal-pelt blanket to come off of her. She shivered lightly, before pulling them back over her. She sighed lowly and closed her eyes again...
Iris was a little surprised when Jace leaned over her and kissed her cheek "Good night, Iris. I'll see you tomorrow, babe." Before she could answer, he put his arm around her "... Am I to close for your personal space?"
"Uh- no, no you're not..." Iris glanced back lightly, before she smiled warmly "... You could never be to close... I like to know I'm not alone."
He pulled her closer gently and nuzzled her sweetly "Well, then... You'll never have to be alone again..."
The autumn leaved Deku Girl took a deep breath, and laid her hand over his hand. She spent her time trying to answer him, but was slowly falling asleep. "Thank you..." She paused, and tiredly added "I love you..."
He sighed, and rubbed her hand gently "Love you, too... Sleep well."
